Written by Leo Rosten over 50 years ago the information is timeless. The author brings wit and personal experience into the mix which lightens what could have been a very dry read. An outstanding dictionary of Yiddish that should appeal to a wide audience, since the definitions are often accompanied by wonderful stories that rosen the key term.

A great reference to have around. There are no discussion topics on this book yet. Quite a funny book! I read everything I could to keep up with all the crazy things he said. The jokes and definitions chosen would not be used today. The book I turn to rostem I am writing about Yiddish. Rosgen delightful remark, credit to Charles Rappaport, runs: The Joys of Yiddish.
