Pym describes the notion below a certain Antarctic latitude as becoming warmer rather than colder. It’s basically like a mystical Treasure Island but instead of being a children’s adventure story it’s about starvation, inhumation, and unexplained mysticism thay you can’t possibly figure out fron the text itself.

At the oneiric climax Pym’s narrative is cut short, and Poe’s longest tale ends. The book has some errors, but most of it is OK. It has a few in famous scenes of horror.

As ever, Poe does not disappoint aventturas this telling of the adventures and mis-adventures of Arthur Gordon Pym as he leaves his home town by stowing away on a whaling ship where upon he suffers the ups and down of life at sea.

Due to the stuffy atmosphere and vapors in the dark and cramped hold, Pym becomes increasingly comatose and delirious over the days. Hutchisson writes that the plot both “soars to new heights of fictional ingenuity and descends to new lows of silliness and absurdity”.
