This is another story that I had to read for uni and I am glad that it wasn’t as long as the first story. Published April 5th by Createspace first published Also given how the search was described, especially the parts with the books, it seems somewhat cafta that the letter could remain hidden as it was but Poe and Dupin seems quite satisfied with his own cleverness about it.

Does G- actually return the letter, or does he attempt to blackmail the royal woman instead? Did Dupin manipulate G- into giving up the money? I am so tired of Poe I have run out of clever ways to review his stuff without too much effort. Sherlock Holmes, eat your heart out! Maybe lessening the usual number of words will make it more interesting.

A perfectly crafted plot of trickery people outsmarting each other. I really liked the idea that you can be a great detective but you will not be able to solve a case if you don’t think like a criminal.

The characters were fairly boring. I find it hard to like Edgar Allan Poe, his writings pos not intrigue me at all, on the other hand they confuse me and do not leave me at ease. I’ve read some non-Holmes Doyle and it’s essentially like Doyle was channeling Poe as he wrote his Holmes stories and books, since his writing style for other works is actually a bit different. I found most of this story was filled with needless complicated language which I could understand perfectly but seemed that way to fill up space. Jun 22, demetriaa h. I loved the way Dupin explained all the mystery around the letter it was just awesome how he thought and followed like the same thoughts of the minister, it was so surprising how the letter was hidden but at the same time it really wasnt.

I quite like Dupin’s observations as an idea, but I didn’t like this in written. Other books in the series.
