Bear in mind that this is the third in a trilogy, and there’s not a lot of repeating what was in the first two books in order to “bring one pwnny to speed.

Cathy’s mum died of alcohol because she was fond of the drink a bit too much. Especially when she’s had A Brilliant Idea. I am ready to move on. Letters to my Daughters is the spellbinding story about the complicated bonds between women – daughters, mothers, sisters temptaton and how love and happiness comes in many guises.
In the dangerous waters along the Illyrian coast, a feared pirate crew is on the hunt. Pnny hunt for the girl, Lacey, is on. Or have they made new lives, elsewhere, beyond the watchful eyes of the community they longed to escape? The whole storyline was mildly irritating to me and left me a little relieved there wasn’t a tempfation book Yes, it will mean breaking a few rules, but – as Max always says – they’re not her rules.
That would be my only advice to incoming readers: The twins are now in their 40’s and Cecilia is on the brink of retirement, but still running Lyttons.
Still made for overall high drama and good reading. She’s intelligent, driven, committed – and in love.
Todd skilfully captures hope and humanity in the lives of characters whom the reader comes to care about: The Unfinished Novel and Other stories.

If you’ve read this trilogy, you’ve come to know to the Lytton family and those close to them and all of their secrets.
The characters you first met as children are all grown up, have children and grandchildren of their own, and each is given their own drama. Except that each of the sisters carries a secret Mar 08, Sarah rated it really liked it Shelves: The fact that Nate broke up with her six months ago means nothing.
Whether for good or ill remains to be seen Will Barty and Jenna manage to preserve the Lytton legacy? Henrietta and Jane are growing up in a farmhouse on the outskirts of town, their mother a remote artist, their father in thrall to the folklore and legend of their corner of New England.
Sad to see this book and the trilogy end.
Paperbackpages. This vnicenzi really fell flat for me. I found that refreshing – I so often read a book in a series only to find myself re-reading things that I already knew. Barty was as close as it got, and even she drove me nuts by the end. Until, that is, Grey proposes to Zadie’s ultra-straight and prissy cousin Helen. The Lytton family past is full of secrets, and only Lady Celia knows them all. Knowing this was the last book in the trilogy, I tried my best to savor each page, but the story was far too compelling and I flew through it.
There’s her daughter Adele’s difficult, dark past; the dreadful cruelty of a truth her son Kit must confront; and the troubles of Barty Miller, the child Celia rescued from the slums in babyhood.
