It seemed to be much more easy with Kodak chems, but maybe it is just me! So-called “Universal” developers used to be popular way back in the era ilforf about to the early ‘s.

Many thanks, Luckily I found some D76 powder stashed away so that will see me clear till I can get hold of some more liquid developer – I’ll use the PQ for the paper bath then. As opposed to Ilford Multigrade developer, this developer will yield a slightly warmer tone.

A comparison chart of some sort, and detailed technical publicationswould be a real help. There are real treasures in our warehouse. I made note of the lot number and nothing else. It would be interesting to hear what you iford have to say about these two developers when compared to each other, and even more interesting to hear what Simon from Ilford has to say about it.
