There she meets the evil one-eyed sorcerer, who’s been involved in her father’s murder and in assorted attempts on her life.

In paytou case of Fire ArrowI really enjoyed the quasi-Celtic world Pattou constructs but it’s a magic-light fantasy story. The ending sounded like there will be another efith.

I really loved this mystical, medieval story. It was so real I felt like I could travel to Eirren and Dungal and know just what to expect. We are treated to a retread of Collun and Brie’s bloodless romance, after Brie flirts aimlessly agrow a very boring fisherman, and Pattou introduces a long-lost-royalty cliche late in the book, that any adept fantasy fans will have spotted long before.

I thought the author could have been a little more clear about the story in Hero’s Song so the transition would have been smoother. Seeking revenge for her father’s death, the young woman sets out to find the men who killed him.

Jan 26, Brooke rated it liked it. I like this less than the first book, but it’s still an interesting read. She bides her time in a friendly land, where dire heals and finds happiness, until she finds herself summoned in her dreams to a mysterious bell tower. A good follow up to Hero’s Song, though the story goes very tangentially.
