Yes, it’s a retelling, but I didn’t feel like there was anything amazingly new here. It’s hard to give twelve girls the same amount of page time and development, but I swear, you feel like you know every last one of them.

The best setting is where the sisters dance.

Too good to be true, etc. Being so young, she quickly forgets who her mother is after she passes away. Just when Azalea should feel that everything is before her—beautiful gowns, dashing suitors, balls filled with dancing—it’s taken away.

Also, it lacked originality to a point. Add all three to Cart Add all three to List. There is none here. This made no sense. Definitely the best part of this book. Then the girls discover a magical secret passage that leads to a beautiful place where they can dance every entwind for a price.

Soon enough the girls find out that they are in a tangled mess they must unravel, but how? Clumsy, entwinsd, and a bit awkward. The novel could also probably use some cutting, but I never found myself bored, so I guess that’s not the greatest crime. Bramble is Enntwined, melodramatic and rowdy and given to flash fires of rage.

Lord Teddie is one of the gentlemen who come to the castle to solve the riddle. I believe the cause to be I didn’t like the book as much as I had hoped too. One so smooth that stars would have gotten lost in it. Ivy is famous for having an extremely large appetite.


I don’t feel it really represents the book, explains what the book is about nor eixon represents any of the scenes. But they need to dance!

He makes me giggle. People get their hands broken; reference to a historical figure getting hers chopped off. But not Azalea, nope. The gentleman tries to ‘entwine’ the lady, while the lady spends the dance avoiding such capture.

It had its fun moments, but, like many books, it had its dull ones, as well. Keeper is beyond what I could’ve asked for as an antagonist and super seductive. It’s very light and adorable, and I maaaaaay be a little obsessed with One Couple in Particular. A handsome youth morphs into a decrepit elder before turning to dust with the weight of his years and evil deeds. Between the beautiful cover and the fact that I knew it was a retelling of one of my favorite fairy tales The Twelve Dancing PrincessI thought I was set.

I just adored the greedy little mite. And they all shared such a strong sisterly, loving bond, deepened through dancing and holding their secrets close to their hearts. It’s essentially a re-telling of The Twelve Dancing Sisters. Dancing is both a coping mechanism and a discipline for these girls.

Bramble, I feel, would have worked a little better as the protagonist of this story. This book has one really fabulous idea. There are elements to this story that positively glitter with potential: Or, better yet, Lord Teddie.

The King goes off to war right after the funeral, leading the girls to wonder if he even loves them. But yes, big caution to younger readers and sensitive people. The princesses, who were decent to begin with become these cawing harpy characters, en A creative re-imaging entwied “12 dancing princesses”, Dixon has so much of it right. When he returns from the war he tries to undo the damage he’s caused to his relationship with his daughters, eventually mending the rift between them.
