It’s worth recommending for a Python novoce book – substantial, and well ordered indeed. Ten accompanying projects will ensure you can get your hands dirty in no time. I anticipate the useful shelf life of Beginning Python will be longer than average for most general purpose programming books for a single language.

I would recommend ‘Automate the Bor The 2nd edition still carries a huge dependency on Python 2, despite claiming to cover Python 3. It delivered that information which I wished were in my possession.
