affaid View all 7 comments. A woman “who has everything”, but is dissatisfied with her husband the way the author writes about this poor dude is appallingdecides to have an affair wlin a billionaire. I could understand him wanting out of his marriage but not in an affair and Claire had no reason, not that there ever is a good reason. So much that I stopped reading right in the middle of the story. It’s hard to remember, now that I’ve actually read one novel and I’m in the midst of another, but I don’t think I expected the kind of character you want to shake.

A Novel Author hilderbrandd I really felt like I could identify well with the main character in this book. Intensely annoying many times, but still bearable I think. As an artist, Claire knows that creating something of value and beauty requires sacrifice, love and a strong will.

Hilderbrand creates plenty of questions to keep you reading. While her husband Jason was much leaner, and had a six-pack. A wonderful aspect, however, of this novel is that the main character is an artist, working with glass and designing the most important piece of art in her life.
